CutUGC edits video you upload. This page says what we collect, who we send it to, how long we keep it and how you get rid of it. It covers the website at https://cutugc.app and the CutUGC iPhone app.

What we collect

  • Your account. Your email address, and the name on your account if you give one. Sign-in is handled by Neon Auth; we never see or store a password. If you sign in with Apple or Google, they tell us your email address and, if you share it, your name. Nothing else.
  • Your videos and the files you upload. The clips you upload, the briefs and documents you attach, and everything we make from them: transcripts, edit plans, captions and the finished cuts.
  • In the iPhone app, the sound of your clip and not the picture. The app uploads only the audio track, which is what we need to work out the edit. The video stays on your phone and is cut and exported there. It is uploaded only if you export a cut with captions, overlays or added audio, which our servers have to draw.
  • What you write in the product. Briefs, scripts, hook lines, notes about your brand, bug reports and feature requests.
  • Usage and diagnostics. Which screens and features you use, when a render fails and why, tied to your account id and a device id, not to your email or name. We use this to find broken things and to decide what to build. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
  • Billing status. Which plan you are on and whether it is active. Card numbers go to the payment processor, never to us.
  • Invites. If you open someone's invite link, which invite it was, so they get credit. If you earn a reward, the PayPal address you give us to pay you.

Who we send it to

These are the companies that process your data so the product can work. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers.

  • Google (Gemini API) — audio, to transcribe it when Deepgram is unavailable; video, to plan the cut of a clip with no speech; and the brief and documents you give the Scriptwriter, to write from them. Google states that it does not use API content to train its models.
  • Groq — audio, for transcription, when it is faster or when Google is unavailable.
  • Deepgram — the audio of each clip you cut, on the web or in the iPhone app, to transcribe it.
  • OpenRouter (TypeSafe) — the transcript of each clip you cut, on the web or in the iPhone app, to choose which takes to keep. It receives the words and their timing, not the audio or the video.
  • Cloudflare R2 — where your uploads and finished videos are stored.
  • Neon — the database holding your account, projects, scripts and settings, and the sign-in service.
  • Railway — the servers that run the website and the render workers.
  • PostHog — product analytics and error reports.
  • Branch — invite links in the iPhone app: which link was opened, and basic device information to match it to the install.
  • Apple and Google — sign-in, if you choose to sign in with them.
  • Whop — subscriptions bought on the website.
  • Apple and RevenueCat — subscriptions bought inside the iPhone app. Apple takes the payment; RevenueCat tells us whether your subscription is active.

What we do not do

  • We do not train AI models on your videos.
  • We do not sell, rent or trade your data.
  • We do not publish your videos anywhere. Nothing you upload is public unless you post it yourself.
  • We do not watch your videos unless you ask us to look at a specific one to fix a problem.

How long we keep it

Your videos and projects stay until you delete them or delete your account. A clip cut without signing in is kept for 7 days for you to sign in and keep it, then deleted with its files. Delete a project and its files are removed from storage. Delete your account and everything goes: projects, hook sets, briefs, scripts, uploads and the account record itself. Backups and logs age out within 30 days. Anonymous usage counts, which are not tied to you, may be kept longer.

Deleting your account

In the app: Account → Delete account. On the web: your account page. It is immediate and it cannot be undone. If you subscribed through the App Store, cancel the subscription in your Apple subscription settings as well — only Apple can stop that billing.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing support@cutugc.app. If you are in the UK, EU, or a US state with a privacy law, those rights are yours by law and we honour them wherever you live. We answer within 30 days.

Children

CutUGC is not for children. You must be 13 or older to use it, and 18 or older to pay for it.

Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit, files are stored in a private bucket that only signed links can reach, and access to production is limited to the people who run the service.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the product before the change takes effect. The date at the top always shows the current version.
